Two weeks to go!

We're on the final countdown to the Summer Gala on the 18th and 19th July and things are firming up nicely. Backworth No.47 (Or Moorbarrow as it is now known) is due to arrive at the railway this week and will be steamed over the weekend for clearance trials and a Charter on Sunday. Unfortunately it has not been possible to arrange for William Francis to drop in on its way to Manchester Museum of Science and Industry for the Garratt Gathering at which our own Beyer Peacock willbe present.
There will be a full line freight on both days of the gala which will work from Caverswall Road to Foxfield colliery in the morning and return in the evening and the usual 18 wagon freight up Foxfield Bank on Saturday evening. The gala timetable and guide is in the process of being put together and will be available to buy from Caverswall Road station and Foxfield Colliery over the weekend. As ever there is also a beer festival for the weekend, so get someone else to drive!
