It's that time of year when the air at the railway smells of cordite and gunpowder as the 1940s War Weekend swings into action. Once again the mad gang of WW2 re-enactors are gathering with canvas tents and field kitchens, and plenty of things that go bang! Hopefully the weather won't be quite as hot and humid as it has been otherwise those poor blighters in full battle dress are going to bake... then again it's a good weight loss programme!
A place to keep people up to date with the goings on at the Foxfield Railway, Blythe Bridge, Staffordshire, Britain's premier industrial heritage railway. Steam trains operate every weekend from Easter to the end of October.
