Many years ago, far more than I can remember, the railway acquired two water tanks from the Barry Railway in South Wales. These have been stored ever since awaiting a suitable time and location to erect either or both of them. More recently it has been decided that one of them is surplus to requirements and it has been sold to a well known haulier. This Saturday a low loader arrived complete with road/rail grab on the back and having been unloaded and given occupation of the section it trundled off up the line to collect the tank and base. It was accompanied by Bagnall diesel Wolstanton No.3, which was undertaking it's first run up the line since a major engine over haul undertaken by Greg Meddings, with a well wagon to load the tank on to. Apparently all went well and the water tank was despatched to its new home.
