Tin worm!

Here's a shot of AE1563's new cab side. The old one was rather tired, the bottom section having been subject to many years of rot due to the coal bunker and the top curved section having had a new piece let into it at some point but not the best job in the world so the decision was taken to completely replace both pieces.
Mind you, as you will see, we still have to deal with the home made top section of the cab back. At the moment the thought is to just take it off and have the cab open backed, although the works photo does show an engine alleged to be 1563 with a straight back sheet that extends full height. However you can never be too certain about these photos as builders would often dress up one loco to look like it's sisters. If anyone has any pictures of the loco when it was at it's first home with Partridge Jones & John Paton in South Wales then we would be pleased to hear from you.
The frames have sprouted a new appendage since this photo was taken, I'll post a picture of this next week.
