Endings and beginnings

One of our members recently reached the end of his ownership of one of the diesel locomotives on the railway due to economic pressures. Ruston 165DE 423657 left the railway for pastures new at the end of February which does mean that we are currently without a vacuum fitted diesel for working passenger trains should we need one. But then again we are a Steam Railway so hopefully that won't come to pass!
Anyway, it's time to look forward to the start of the new season which kicks off on Saturday 4th April with one of our ever popular Driver Experience days, your's truly instructing. Then Sunday the 5th see's the start of normal passenger services. The rostered loco is Florence No.2 but at present it is not clear which loco will actually be in traffic as Florence is awaiting it's annual boiler inspection and the standby loco, Wimblebury, is currently missing some crucial parts to the injectors and no one, bar the loco superintendant, knows where they are. I'm sure we will have something in steam even if it's only the kettle in the buffet!
